Frequently asked questions

How does Tailorpix compress PNG?

The automatic mode tests whether the number of colors can be reduced to 256 down to 32 without a visible difference. If not, Tailorpix optimizes losslessly with OxiPNG.

Is transparency kept?

Yes. Transparent and semi-transparent areas are kept in both modes.

What about photos saved as PNG?

Photos with many gradients hardly shrink as PNG. As JPG or WebP they usually become much smaller. Use PNG to JPG or PNG to WebP for that.
